How to rebuild the path to my library for Sampler ?

Hello ! For a strange reason , I lost the path for the .exs programs with the samples residing on an external hard drive
Besides updating occasionally the operating system and the Logic updates I didn't change anything else . When Sampler loads in a program , it asks for the folder where the samples resides . I locate the proper folder but the prompt doesn't allow me to select it . It's like it thinks it's the wrong folder or something .
I run the latest version of Logic on Mac OS Big Sur . The factory library loads fine because the programs and samples reside on the internal drive of my laptop .

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Best regards

Can you drill into the folder, or is it greyed out in such a way where you can't even get into, and select a file inside the folder?

Have you tried moving the folder around? (copying it elsewhere on your computer and then moving it back?) sometimes this helps spotlight "rediscover" it. Also is "Search samples" set to "all volumes" in your settings in logic?

Thanks for your reply

Not sure if the problem is due to a recent upgrade of Logic . The problem i have is only with 3rd party or custom .exs programs . The .exs program info resides on my internal drive and the samples on an external drive . What's weird is , when in Logic ( or MainStage ) and load Sampler in a channel strip , then select an .exs program on the drop down menu that is a 3rd party preset , i get a dialog box showing that it's looking for the sample ( or samples ) on the external HD but it's the wrong sample on the wrong folder . It shows me the previous path but now is searching for the wrong sample in another sample folder on my external drive . This dialog box happens because I have a back up external disk with a copy of the sample folders . If I unmount the back up disk then Sampler just loads the wrong sample from another folder on the drive . It's like the program data has been corrupted or something .

I will look on the spotlight thread you posted .

By the way , where can I find the .exs program data on my internal drive ? I located the factory programs but I can't find the path to the folder for 3rd party .exs libraries . I know about clicking on option to bring up the library menu but when I search in the folder Application support > Logic etc.. I can't find the EXS program folder .

Many thanks for your help

Yes , found it . I will try the re-indexing thing and report back !

Thank you !
