Here’s a teaser of four new voice databases we have coming up:

Hayden - An English male voice database featuring high, crisp tones, with an attractive huskiness on the low to middle tones. Hayden showcases a soft, breathy, and even melancholic timbre reminiscent of early-2000s pop and radio alt-punk slow anthems.

Eri - Synthesizer V AI Eri is a Japanese female voice database with a breathy, velvety decadence, most distinctive in the lower tones. Particularly for melodic compositions, Eri features effortless transitions, ranging from a catchy, pop middle range to a powerful falsetto.

Sheena - A bilingual (Japanese and English) female voice featuring a mature and powerful tone mixed with a melancholic, distinct timbre. Her versatility is suited mainly for R&B, soul, blues, and emotive pop.

Wei Shu - Synthesizer V AI Wei Shu is a Cantonese male voice with a soft, whispery, and slightly nasal voice quality, ideal for the low to middle range. In the middle to high range, the voice has a powerful sound, while still maintaining softness. Wei Shu is well-suited not only for ballads, but also for high-tempo electro-pop tunes.

Edit: Removed incorrect YouTube links; SaRaBand has them in their post.

Hayden, im sure he is great but i dont have much use for him at the moment.

Eri, really pretty + we finally have japanese rap now which is great! i dont know if i see myself using her tho, i dont find her voice motivating for me despite it being very pleasant to be honest. who knows, maybe she will grow on me i dont know.

Sheenah, i cant form an opinion on her yet because ( ̶d̶r̶e̶a̶m̶t̶o̶n̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶u̶s̶u̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶s̶u̶c̶k̶s̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶m̶a̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶d̶e̶m̶o̶s̶ ) the demo doesnt really show off her true potential. also this is like the 2nd time dreamtonics advertises a voice being great for *insert recommended genres* but doesnt show the voice in those genres. so im not sold on her yet until someone does something cool with her post-release.

Wei Shu, i dont really see myself using him because he's not my taste but it's great that we finally have a native cantonese bank!

Anyone have any further word now that 10 is out when the new voices may come? Do they have a history of long lead times after teasers?

I'm a bit surprised not to see more activity on this thread. Did anyone pick up the new voices? What do you think?

I now have Sheena and Hayden. I must admit, I'm disappointed with Sheena as an English only writer. The accent just ruins it for me. Even used as a backing singer, it really sticks out. I think if you have a lead vocal use for her, its less important, but I think backing vocals need to blend invisibly. Its a shame, because the voice itself has some nice timbral qualities and in terms of pitch/frequency content, fits nicely between Solaria and Natalie.

Hayden more than made up for the disappointment. Not only a fabulous voice in its own right, it brings Kevin to life too, if you use Hayden's timing, intonation etc. As its own voice, Hayden requires the least amount of effort to sound good. Great range, and great range of emotional variety. It'll be interesting to see how Saros fits in with Hayden. There seems to be quite a crossover, but with Hayden sounding more rock to Saros' more musical theatre. Ultimately, Saros should be more flexible too with way more vocal modes.

Hayden is great. I expect to hear great things as people start using him. I don't need Sheena at this stage, because she doesn't add much to what I can do with Solaria and Natalie. Why they think we need another female in her style is a mystery. I'll wait for a girl more rock (Janis J or Bonnie R) or black soul/gospel to compliment what I have. (On that note, I'm still not convinced about Saros either, but am going to check out his falsetto to see if he can do what the others can't.)

Sorry to say I can't remember Dreamtonics granting any discount on their voicebanks, ever. Except for that bundle with Synthesizer V Studio Pro. But maybe they'll surprise us this year? 🤨

Yes, I took advantage of that bundle.

Maybe if you buy more than one? :emoji_pray:

I wish! But in the past, even this didn't help any... At least it didn't (and doesn't) say so on their store site.
Our own fault, I guess. We just didn't make them rich enough yet to be able to have sales or quantity discounts... ;)

I see a new Japanese Female voicebank, Ayame, has been released. The original name was Aya, but apparently Vocaloid is working on a voicebank of the same name. Nice tone, but not sure how well she translates to English.

The upgrade to Anri, named Anri Arcane, has a release data of 12/11. This announcement says that owners of the original Anri will be eligible for a limited time to get a free upgrade.

And this page says that Oscar should be out in December, with a Standard version ($79USD) with "Power", "Rock", “Soft”, and "Whisper" vocal modes, and a Deluxe version ($99USD) with four additional modes: "Nasal", "Classic", "Who" and "Special".

"Who" and "Special"... Maybe there's a problem with the translation? o_O

Yeah, that occurred to me too. :roflmao:

I found a table "explaining" the two "bonus" vocal modes:

There's a demo here:

If anyone knows where I can hear an example of Ayame singing in English, that would be great. The voice timbre seems different enough to be worthwhile. But I've noticed that Japanese voices seem to translate less well to English than Chinese voices. And since Sheena has issues although she's recorded in English, I'm not eager to spend $80 USD on a native Japanese voice without knowing what I'm buying.
