YouTube and external links

As of a few months ago, I have been unable to navigate to any external content linked from or embedded in the forums here. For example, YouTube video links only display as a graphic. It doesn't seem there are any forum settings I can access that turn links on or off. I don't normally log in so I assumed one had to log in to access linked material but that doesn't seem to be the case here. The only other thing I can think of is I usually browse the forum on an older ipad4 so I'm using an older 32 bit version of safari. Obviously some websites require a more modern browser but everything here functioned fine until recently. Wondering if any one else has experienced the same issue? Thanks in advance!

Could you share a couple links to posts that have YT links on them and which you cannot reach? I'll look into it.

This is probably a browser/OS issue and YouTube may have changed their container format recently but I just wanted to check.

The two links you shared contain links to YouTube videos that can be watched from within your own browser. They are not just images. So I assume your browser is possibly obsolete and cannot render these links correctly.

Can you update your browser to a more recent version that would be compatible with your OS?

Hi and thanks Andre. I've checked and confirmed the only site I've experienced this you tube problem with is VI Control. The older ipads I use to browse and skype with are not able to be updated but function well enough for what I use them for. I keep all studio production machines off the internet with the exception when using DL managers, auth's, ilok, etc. Just to restate, the browser is out of date but I only experience this problem here so I assume the vic forum software is handling these links differently than other sites.

It is possible the software we use is requiring more up-to-date browsers.
