To All Vendors: please change the domain name for reCAPTCHA.

This is a suggestion to all VST vendors (incl. XFER Records.) whose website have ReCaptcha equipped.

The main domain of reCAPTCHA is blocked by GFW, leading to an issue that Mainland China users who purchased your products (usually from authorized resellers) cannot access certain page of your website.

However, the backup domain of reCAPTCHA is not blocked by GFW: "recaptcha.net".
The solution is simple: If setting up using reCAPTCHA, then please use "http://www.recaptcha.net/recaptcha (www.recaptcha.net/recaptcha)" in lieu of "www.google.com/recaptcha".

That's a good callout, and I do understand the pain of trying to use websites within the restrictions of the GFW. However, I'm not sure this thread is suited for the "Sample Talk" forum where it's current posted, since it's more of a technical discussion than one about the samples themselves.

Is there an easy way for Western developers to test their websites under the GFW? My impression is that some non-Chinese websites fail to load consistently or get throttled rather than being blocked entirely, so it's not entirely as simple as just checking the blocklist (of which I'm not aware of any comprehensive source anyway).

Also, I'm wondering if you typically don't browse with a VPN? I know some popular VPNs got banned last year unfortunately.
