I want to keep getting notifications about participated threads

Why do I after a certain time stop getting notifications about new posts in threads I participated in?

It seems to happen when I don’t actively participate in the thread for a while.

Does VI-Control decide for me that I am not interested in the thread anymore?

I wish I would keep getting notifications when people post in threads I participated. Of course not 1000 notifications, just the bell showing “1” when one or more people post. If I click onto the notification to make it disappear without opening the thread I still want to see “1” the next time someone posts so I can decide myself if I want to check it out later on or just click it away.

Hi, let me see if I can help.

One thing you may not know is that if you do not visit the page when you get a notification, no matter how many other people respond, you will not get further notifications for that thread.

Can you imagine the volume of emails the forum would have to send otherwise? Also, conversations move forward while we are away? :)

So next time do this: when you get a notification, go to the site (login first so your presence is registered), go to the thread, and read up. Or, just follow the last notification you received.

That's basically the best way to keep up.
