Hi!
I have the idea of a sticky thread where all libraries of all instruments are summed.
For instance -
Sticky thread "Solo Instruments"
Marimba
list of all libraries featuring a marimba.
Piano
list of all libraries featuring a piano
World
list of all non-western-typical libraries like Strezov's Jade
Unclassifiable
list with stuff like Mntra releases, prepared pianos etc
ETC
I think that would be a brilliant way to find some hidden gems and go beyond the recommendations that can often be fairly repetitive and biased towards popular libraries.
For instance, while searching for Marimba recommendations I read like 10 times about Ricotti and Sonicouture in 2 threads but nothing about the many other libraries that can be worthwhile too, like Versillian, Marcos Ciscar, Paper Stone etc... I even prefer those over Ricotti based on the demos.
Maybe also adding (NEW + release date and removing the note after a few months) makes sense to keep track of new releases.
Basically like the Black Friday thread, just as a general directory for instruments. Pretty messy to execute I figure and could require multiple threads, like Solo/Chamber/Orchestral/Hybrid/ etc. If a library contains multiple types of instruments or categories of sounds it would have to be noted down in each relevant section and thread.
This could even work for Synths and fx plugins.
Since it's nothing that requires immediate action unlike the black friday thread it wouldn't be too hard to maintain time-wise.
I could maintain it since I'll be furiously obsessed with knowing all libraries in existence forever!
Although I'm not too unlikely to get banned one day so....... not sure.
