Post deleted - why?

I posted in the Adachi thread - a difficult thread to moderate, I get it. All I did was post that I would like to see Troels respond to DJs accusations. Why is that bad?
There already is a thread on this topic:
Mike has a lot of cleanup to do keeping that thread from exploding. I've refreshed it a couple times over the day and he or other mods deleted so many posts, it might be close or above 50% of what's posted. A post of mine was deleted too and I get why. Don't worry about it, it's nothing personal! But I wouldn't recommend investing much time into a long post in that thread because it will likely get deleted as well.

Every now and then we get these "anomaly" threads where the 'rules' need to be adjusted specifically for them.
Controversial threads are very susceptible to "pile-ons", where a string of messages from different people come through all saying the same thing. In the general forum, of course people should be able to say what they want to say, but since the thread in question is an "anomaly" thread, the goal has been to keep it as concise as possible, leaving room and breathing space for the "key players" in the discussion.
There are already posts there that demonstrate how people are either missing the point of the thread, or are having trouble keeping up, etc. So if there's posts that feel repetitive, for example, they'll likely be getting deleted.

There's been like 50+ posts deleted from there just in the last week, so don't take it too personally.

Who knows, maybe there'll be a chance for everyone to de-brief once the main parties have bowed out and the dust has settled.

Yeah, it's just a clean-up/streamine effort. One of my posts was deleted as well, but since it was a response to a slightly vitriolic filler post which was also deleted, the deletion of my post made total sense.

On that note, mods have my blessing to remove every one of my posts in that thread. The thread is misinterpretable because the turning point event that unfolded was worded somewhat hastily. It looked like Sarah dissolved her relationship with 8Dio over an alleged disagreement and then brought Cory's situation to light to bolster anti-8Dio support, but what actually happened is that she learned of Cory's and other people's situations and then decided to dissolve her relationship with 8Dio based on principle.

As a result of this clarification, every one of my posts in that thread is completely useless... which makes all the responses to my threads also useless. Ugh! My apologies to the mods for creating extra trash to wade through. :(

I understand that, but respectfully asking Troels to respond to someone else's claims is part of the convo, no?
Every post removed from that thread was part of the conversation, but conversations in hot threads are much easier to follow when the many redundant voices are reduced to a few. Picture a scene in any movie where there's an angry mob yelling. In almost every movie, the mob noise will quiet down and only a few "spokespeople" will stand out and do the talking for the whole mob. It makes the dialogue much easier to follow.

Your post's deletion had nothing to do with the respectfulness or relevance of your post, but rather that it was deemed to be more mob noise than essential dialogue. If your post was the only one calling for Troels' attention, I'm confident it would have stayed up.

Wait a minute.

A post saying that I would like to see Troels respond to DJs accusations is not ok in the other thread, but comparing 8Dio to Trump IS ok? Wait - seriously?

And then when I ask to not bring politics into the discussion - THAT post gets deleted, but the Trump part of the post stays?

Might want to be more patient. That one was deleted too.

We have all had posts deleted I know for and some of my inane diatribes most were justifiable, lol
But at some point all of us including @HarmonKard should hopefully realize monitoring VI-C is a difficult task that requires the moderators to make decisions in real time to keep threads on track & focused, while trying to avoid legal consequences that probably most people posting aren’t considering or even aware of.
Mike and any other moderator can delete any of my posts they want,I’m not going to complain. I think and trust they are looking out for VI-C.
It’s not just about one post or anything anyone should take personally.

I've had at least one post (understandably) deleted from that thread and I totally get it. I've also deleted at least one of my own posts in that thread shortly after making it, after changing my mind.

I think it's definitely a topic worth discussing. Troels did put up an offer that turned out to be a bit disingenuous; he said come over to Discord for his side of the story, and then reneged, basically calling Mike/Sarah/Mario liars and then disallowing any further talk on the matter. (...and the whole justification of "let's focus on what actually matters - making great instruments" schtick is rather dismissive, but don't get me started ...)

I think Mike has done as well as anyone possibly could have expected him to, handling this mess (and dealing with those of us who have strong opinions about it). I've definitely (quietly) disagreed with some of his moderation decisions in the past, but this isn't one of those situations. If my remaining posts in that thread are deleted (and for all I know, they might already be; I haven't bothered checking), it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I've certainly contributed my share of fuel to the fire.

It's obviously a very complicated issue. And since Troels won't let it be discussed in his house, we basically have to talk about it in Mike's House instead. And in this delicate situation (that got kind of surreal when the lawyer showed up!), if Mike has to bend his rules or make judgement calls in the heat of the moment, we should cut him some slack. He maintains a wonderful community here for sure, but at the end of the day, (though this doesn't seem to be his view or his intention) we are guests in his house (albeit guests with quite a bit of leeway!)

My post was edited and I'm fine with it. It's a hot issue and I don't envy Mike when he's being accused of everything from promoting the argument to censoring it. It's an impossible position and I think he and the mods are doing the best they can as the issue evolves.
