Of select materials, beautifully modelled and finely finished throughout, this fiddle sounds every bit as good as it looks. Condition is excellent, with only a few minor scratches, a little play wear, no restoration and no repair issues. |

The varnish, of a golden brown colour and nicely transparent, shows off the classic Italian purfling detail, excellent edge work and strong, confident scroll. Set up with the maker's bridge and Evah Pirazzi strings, in the right hands this violin can produce very fine tone...strong and subtle, brilliant but warm and nicely balanced with tremendous projection. |

The printed label reads 'Antonio Lorenzi di San Raffaelo', over-signed and numbered 848 in red ink. There is also a small, circular Art Deco label opposite, reading ' G Rabut - Luthier - Palais des Arts - Lyon', probably the retailer. As with all violins offered here, home trials are always possible and interesting part exchange offers always welcome. Please contact us for further details. |
