What's new

UVI vouchers are out

Finally ended up with organic pads and arps, might be useful especially with the new midi out even if I wont have bought them without the vouchers cause the sound examples for me dont really have that "special" thing. Some nature sounds in the pads that might be useful and as I said maybe some of the arps with midiout.

If anyone has understand how this chord thing works (nothing in the manual that really explains it for me how to use, workflow....) would be very welcomed.

The other more "special" option (glass orchestra) to much at the moment even with vouchers and in general not really my thing (copper and that kind of stuff - tibetan meditation - bowls: YES, any kind of wood is nice but glass......apart from that I had already to much of that stuff evrywhere floating around.....).

EDIT: just in case....just realized why I have NOT bought the "arps" when they came out: this is no midi sequencing in any way, its just "effect" arps, so midi out is absolutely useless with this.....you get out what you put in....

I have been slightly underwhelmed by the lack of variety in the raw sounds of the glass instruments, which isn't surprising as glass doesn't seem to offer so much in terms of overtones compared to metal.
Although, there is no extended walkthrough that focuses on the presets, so it may well be more interesting than it first appears.
The engine will definitely be able to take those raw sounds to interesting places and the Venus Theory video covers its features in detail.

I do have a nearly full set of quartz crystal bowls which I like the sound of.
But what works as an acoustic instrument for me doesn't necessarily translate to me enjoying a sampled version nearly so much.
Because by comparison, it is hard to compete with the sound of multiple bowls all playing at once and interacting with each other, while being so close to you and filling the room in an organic way.
So my reference points for glass and metal objects spoils me.
If I just treat it as a VI and forget about my instruments, I am sure I would enjoy it, but I can't see me buying it.
It might be fun to get the UVI pass for a month some time and try a few libraries though.
