Welcome! Give the search function a try (it can be tough, but sometimes you can find what you need) and never be afraid to ask a question. 'Talking' is a great way of learning, so don't feel afraid to get involved with discussions you are interested in.
There are all sorts here. Lots of professionals, lots of aspirants and students, lots of people who aren't predominantly interested in making music for other media (that would include me, but I do love media music). Some of us (not me) know a lot. If you look for it, you can find some discussions of music directly; but there is also a lot focusing on the technology and tools used in composing.
Beware of buying things you don't need; but there are amazing tools out there to create all sorts of music with these days.
