Favorite bass amp sim?

Mostly posting this out of curiosity, but I always see talk everywhere of the "top guitar amps" or collections of "guitar amps for different styles." Yet it feels—to me, at least—like bass amp sims hardly get any attention.

So if any of you have any bass amp sims you like using, whether you're an actual bassist or use VIs to fill out the guitar parts, feel free to talk about them here! I'm curious to know what all is out there.

Bass player here, I tend to use the bass amp IR pack from Shift Line, AudioThing Valves, Audiority Pre X7, and Neural DSP Darkglass Ultra. I recently got Aurora DSP Gorilla (not linked because I’m getting a phishing warning?) but haven’t had a chance to really check it out.

However, my usual chain for just plugging and playing is a tube DI > Logic Opto Comp > Channel EQ > Shift Line amp IR
Thanks. This reminds me I got to try to use Valves. I got it for free and have no idea what to do with it.

I have NDSP Darkglass Ultra, and Ampeg SVT Suite. I like both of them but often use IRs I've purchased (both plugins can host 3rd party IRs). I'm not sure if they still do this but I got 50% off the Ampeg SVT Suite for filling out a survey.

I'm another big fan of the Ampeg SVT models from Plugin Alliance. I get tons of use out of them.

I did the music for this podcast and the bass parts are reasonably prominent in the intro and outro pieces. They're just my trusty Fender Jaguar bass (Japanese) straight into my RME interface with the Ampeg SVT3 Pro and a little Black Rooster LA2A, from what I recall.

For bass I usually just saturate the DI but when I feel the need for an amp my usual choice is Mark Studio 2 by Overloud. Definitely niche but I prefer it over the bass amps emus on Amplitube.

Huh, so far it seems SVT stuff and Darkglass are very popular. Almost every response so far has had at least one of these in it.
Good to know!

Be aware that the Ampeg (Yamaha parent company) SVT Suite is separate from the Plugin Alliance SVT. A LOT of people (great players) like the PA Ampeg stuff - it didn’t flip my pancakes so much. They are not the same.

That much I found out already. Plugin Alliance SVT is the bass head on its own, if I understand correctly, and is developed by brainworx. SVT Suite is a full package with pedals, amp heads, cabs, etc. by Ampeg themselves.
