Never used it but Artistry Audio’s Origin X supports drag and drop of your own samples now and the engine looks pretty deep.
I agree, it's definitely straining on the eyes and can be frustrating at first. But it opens so many doors. For instance, suddenly you find you are able to roll your own Arkhis-style patches in a couple minutes, but using any of the sounds you have.I guess it's about comfort and a cleverly laid out palette of manipulation methods for me. Menu diving in kontakt is a strain on the eyes and patience as well.
there is one from Sonokinetik which can accept more than one sample at the time...i am not a fan of stretching the same sample for octaves, it sounds bad... but maybe sonokinetik has solved that.. don't remember the name.. anyone?
Presently being on quest for "import your own samples" kontakt engines.

That was my first thought and started writing new thread but abandoned that when in a meanwhile I found this thread and did not want to junk the forum. If this is ok with OP I might post a separate thread with the list with reference to this post as an inspiration and other short one I found as well on VIC.excellent idea to get a running list going,
honestly this should probably be it's own thread with this list at the top so everyone can easily find it
