I learned long ago to NEVER use a debit card unless absolutely necessary. If a fraudulent charge occurs with a credit card, your liability is low, if not zero. If someone hacks your debit and clears out your account, there is little recourse.IIRC, in the US and barring gross negligence on your part, $50 is your max exposure for loss resulting from credit card fraud.
But I use PayPal anyway.
You can tell PayPal to charge you in USD and let your bank do the conversion.Paypal charges actual highway robber fees for currency conversion. My cards are all between 0.something-2% coversion fees. Paypal is 5%.
