Yeah credit cards are a good choice because you're not liable for unauthorised charges (at least in the UK).

I learned long ago to NEVER use a debit card unless absolutely necessary. If a fraudulent charge occurs with a credit card, your liability is low, if not zero. If someone hacks your debit and clears out your account, there is little recourse.

You can tell PayPal to charge you in USD and let your bank do the conversion.

One thing nice about using PayPal is the ease with which one can recall purchases for end of year tax accounting, although it is sometimes difficult to recall specific transactions that are not identified with the developer's name. As such, I throw invoice .pdfs into a folder, too. Good to have both to assure completeness.
